Andrei Cotiga
Geotechnical Engineer
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Andrei specialises in soil mechanics, if it's made from, supports or is supported by dirt he can help. It was Andrei's fascination with the interaction between structures and soil that drew him to Geotechnical engineering. While structures are generally controllable processes, soil is more unpredictable where you never know what you're going to get. The uncertain nature of soil keeps Andrei's work stressful but exciting.
The dynamic work environment at Eliot Sinclair gives Andrei the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of other experts, integrating survey, civil engineering and structural engineering in a cohesive design package to suit our clients.

Resource Management Planner
Bryan McGillan
Resource Management Planner
As a senior planner, Bryan is involved in projects from the earliest stages, working with clients to understand exactly what they want to achieve and making the path to their goals as smooth as possible. With a background in subdivision development in Otago, Bryan brings over 25 years planning experience to our team and has worked on several high-profile, large-scale developments across the South Island.
Bryan views the role
of a Resource Management Planner as one that looks after the environment and
the people who are a part of it. He enjoys working on projects that look to
achieve positive outcomes for both the physical and social environments in
which they are set.

Luke Crichton
Acting Nelson Branch Manager | Engineering Geologist
Luke has spent the better part of 25 years getting to know the ground beneath his feet, and nowhere more so than the Nelson, Tasman & Marlborough regions. As a geotechnical peer reviewer for Nelson City Council for over eight years, he has seen more of the region's land than most, giving him a depth of local knowledge that is genuinely hard to match.
That regional fluency is backed by experience across some demanding projects, from the Kaikōura earthquake road and rail rebuild, council infrastructure projects and subdivision development. In 2022, he was called on by Civil Defence to work alongside police and fire services during the top of the south regional storm event (1-in-120-year rainfall), assessing both private properties and key regional infrastructure.
Now leading Eliot Sinclair's Nelson office, Luke splits his time between branch management and staying hands-on with the technical work he clearly enjoys most.
